Mikey the dachshund chases Weasel Ball

Mikey doesn’t let his cart stop him from enjoying his WeaselBall one bit! Go doxie, go!! ___ OWNERS NOTE: Mikey went down almost overnight & was rushed into immediate surgery on 2-18-09. General statistics, immediate action, & an excellent board-certified surgeon gave Mikey a 85-95% chance of regaining normal mobility. Unfortunately, he is baffling everyone & has yet to regain motor or potty function. ___ For more info on disc-disease please visit — www.dodgerslist.com

    I give my dashund everyday these over the counter meds with alittle bit of cream cheese.500mg Ester C, 25,000iu Beta Caratine, 400iu Vitamin E, and a combo pill of Glucosamine,Chondritin,MSM. I was told my dashund would never walk and needed a cart.I did research and give her this and she walks,runs,plays. I have to make her take the bigger pills. If you try this and it works don’t stop the treatment, I did and mine relasped, but glad to say she is up and running again shes going on 5 years now.

    Kudos to you for everything you’ve done for Mikey. But I would trash the Weasel Ball; as you can see it got stuck in his mouth by his canines.
    What’s Mikey like better, balls or squeekies? My doxies are squeekie freaks. ;)

    Although he rarely gets it “stuck” like that, he NEVER gets to play with Weasel Ball unsupervised… trust me.

    As for his favorites… 1) weasel ball (moves on its own), 2) squeakies (notice dogbed full of them in background), and 3) plain ‘ol tennis balls

    Of course, being a doxie…. food & treats beat out ALL of the above! :o )

    My bad, I missed the bed ‘o squeakies! lol

    My pack (doxies thru akitas) will be adding Mikey to their nightly prayers. And give him a treat for me. ;)

    Where the weasel? O: the best part of Weazel Ball?

  6. kaw1782 says:

    This was round #2 of attack-the-weasel-ball. Weasel lost his tail in the un-filmed round #1. Poor Weasel. {giggles}

  7. mystery964 says:

    @kaw1782 Aww. So I guess the weasel went in the trash? O:

  8. kaw1782 says:

    oh heck NO!! as you can see in the video, it is still VERY fun to chase WeaselBall… even if there is no tail.
    Mikey & the other doxies still go *SPASTIC* when they hear me turn it on & set ‘em loose… :o )))

  9. mystery964 says:

    @kaw1782 I mean the tail (thats the weasel, it has eyes and all) I took the weasel off of mine for a plushie :D

  10. kaw1782 says:

    @mystery964 … we call the ball “weasel” in our house, but the actuall plush part? Umm… well.. that was so shredded in round #1 that he passed over to squeakie heaven (trash can).

  11. mystery964 says:

    @kaw1782 Poor squeakie :(

    Our little Fritz became paralyzed 4 days ago due to 4 degenerated discs. This has been so tough. We have decided to see what we can do. The vet is now weaning him off of the drugs and so long as there is no pain, we will be getting him a new set of wheels. It is good to see your Mikey doing so well on his wheels. Any suggestions or moral support?

  13. kaw1782 says:

    Has Fritz had surgery… or are your using “conservative” treatment w/ drug therapy & crate rest? either way, 4 days is far too soon to consider the use of a doggie cart. The disc needs time to heal, crate rest of 6 weeks for surgical & 8 weeks for conservative dogs is the minimum. My other doxie Buster went “down” 6 months after Mikey & 4 wks later he started to regain some feet movement… 8 wks before he could walk mostly on his own & THAT was considered a fast recovery!!
