The true life of Adventures of Tabby, a “down-in-the-back” Dachsund and the owner that loves her. Instructions on how to maintain quality of life for a paralyzed pet
thats true love
that’s sad to see but daxies are REAL fighters! They always fight for whatever they have, including their lifes. They never give up.
My daxy once had a problem with his spine. He wall in a water under the ice in winter, which was totally my fault. But I did EVERYTHING to make him recover and he was on his 4 feet in 2 weeks. The vet said that the surgery gonna cost me so i was ready to sell my car, but hopefuly he recovered by himself. They are strong and never give up.
I can relate to this, in spring of 09 my dachshund Sadie had been having back problems, so the vets put her on medication and she was on bed rest, but it kept getting worse and by june she couldn’t walk on her back legs just like Tabby, we got her a doggy wheelchair and a life jacket and take her swimming + on walks and now is starting to walk again on her back legs even when all the vets said she wouldn’t walk again, which is a miracle and I’m so happy my dog can have a happy life again!
my dogs better
Tabby is absolutely precious!!
such an inspiration. pretty lady:)
I would love to know of some of the resources. My service dog was out playing just the 5th of November and here it is the 10th of nov. and we are starting a whole new life. A team has been changed forever due to a freak accident in the yard.
I have a dachshund who just recently became paralyzed, but she is almost 14 years old. I don’t know that she would have the strength to ever do what Tabby did because of her age. She is on medication but seems so unhappy. We tried the water therapy but she hurt her neck. We just don’t know what to do anymore. Do you have any words of encourgagement for us?
Excellent story!!! We have 4 dachshunds, and one just injured her back over Christmas. Where can we email you for more information?

That is a dedicated owner… God bless you guys.. And God bless you Tabby!
Poor little thing. It’s good she has a dedicated owner.
What a great Family she has!
Special place in Heaven for you !!!!
God bless you for taking such great care of Tabby!!!
She is a very pretty dog, what a happy spirit she has! It is amazing that she is able to get around so easily.. You would think that with her injury she wouldn’t enjoy to run around and fetch… Thank you for taking good care of her!
Dawww wot a cute dachshund
I’m so sad. I lost my dacshies this year and I miss them so much.
I really admire Tabby’s mom, she is so practical and matter of fact. They both just get on with normal life. Shows what can be done when you think outside the box. I hope they have many happy years together, so sweet.
I know what your love because I have a dog of the same race that had the same problem as its so she returned to riding. The vet said she would not walk again but I myself have given physiotherapy and remedies for human vessels sanguinios decompress the spine and thank God today she runs with some difficulty but able to walk again.

Our dachs had a similar IVDD injury but made a full recovery after an emergency surgery. We never gave up on him and he never let us down.
